Peak Indulgence Days

These are my 5* gold, 'very special day packages' in the Peak District

Indulgence Days are generally tailor-made to suit your group but to make the choice easier for you, we have designed the following specific packages:

Saints, Sinners, Soles & Spa

....So called because this particular red letter day offers the dual pleasures of eating delicious food and wine, with the benefits of gentle exercise to assuage your guilt, an afternoon guided walk around Buxton with its classical architecture and spectacular Country Park, ending the day by tapping into the luxuriating delights of the wonderful Dome Spa with an 'Evening Bliss' experience.

The fun begins with coffee or tea and biscuits in one of the cosy lounges at the Historical Old Hall Hotel in Buxton. We are then taken on a private tour of this fascinating 500 year old building, and given glimpses into the rooms once graced by the fated Mary Queen of Scots.

Before lunch there will be a Pilates Class led by fully qualified and experienced Body Control Pilates Instructor, Rosalind Hoyes. Classes will be multi-level structured and tailored to everyone's specific needs.

Lunch will be a three course meal served in one of the Hotel's sumptuous dining rooms, and accompanied by your choice of wine.

To walk off the feast, Sally Mosley, our expert Peak District guide, will lead you first on a hidden-gems tour of Buxton, and then up into the surrounding hills, for a breath of fresh air and a chance to view Buxton and the Peaks from Solomon's Temple. You will be shown little known curiosities, such as the lime-burners hovel, tucked into the hillside and a beautifully-preserved time-warp shop.

We finish the day the best way we know how-with a deeply relaxing dip in the hydrotherapy pool, followed by a luxurious treatment of your choice.

As an extra reward everyone Indulging in our Saints and Sinners day will be given a goody bag of Peak District products to take home.

The Indulgence Day cost including all refreshments, three course lunch, Pilates Class, and Guided Walk is just £95 per person. This is based on a minimum of 4 in a group.

Any Spa treatment is extra and payable on the day to the Dome.

STEPPING BACK IN TIME

Our Peak Indulgence days are all about experiencing something special and for this one we have put together a fabulous package of treats in a stunning location, using unique venues and incorporating an exclusive wander along a private riverside path in the footsteps of Derbyshire's one time rich and elite.

Your day starts with a welcome to Willersley Castle, built by Sir Richard Arkwright on the profits from his nearby cotton spinning mill. After tea or coffee we will retire to the library for an hour of stretch and tone Pilates. Before lunch there will be a wander along the private riverside path to Matlock Bath going through a locked gate for which we will be entrusted with the key.

Matlock Bath is the inland Riviera of the Peak District. Tucked away within the promenade line-up of shops and amusements is a hidden time warp to the Victorian era - Hodgkinson's Hotel www.hodgkinsons-hotel.co.uk has to be seen to be believed! You will be treated to a fine dining experience in their amazing 19th century style dining room.

After lunch we will head to the hills for a healthy hike along woodland paths to the quiet backwater of Scarthin and the village of Cromford, so historic that it has been designated as a World Heritage Site. Hear snippets of history, see incredible surviving features and descend into the yard of Cromford Mill, the first factory mill in the world.

Your day will end with a return to Willersley Castle for a relaxing cream tea in the lounge before heading for home.

The Indulgence Day cost including all refreshments, two course lunch, cream tea, Pilates Class, and Guided Walk is just £95 per person. This is based on a minimum of 4 in a group.
